The team

Two doctors. One whole-person philosophy.

Dr. Mark Sanders founded Family Chiropractic Center in 1977 and still leads it today. Dr. Steven Peters joined the practice in 2019. Together they share a single approach — listen to what the body is telling us first, then treat the cause — under one roof in West Lake Hills.

Dr. Mark Sanders D.C.

Founder · Applied Kinesiology & functional endocrinology

Dr. Mark came to chiropractic the long way — first as a chemical engineer at UT Austin. That problem-solver's mind never left him: he wanted to understand why a body breaks down, not just quiet the symptom. He graduated valedictorian of his class at Palmer College in 1975 and opened Family Chiropractic Center two years later. Nearly five decades on, he still blends hands-on adjusting with muscle testing, nutrition, and functional endocrinology — and he integrates health coaching so patients leave understanding their own bodies.

Why patients stay for decades

How our practice treats differently.

You see your doctor
No revolving door of associates. The doctor who examines you is the doctor who treats you — visit after visit, year after year.
Two perspectives
Dr. Sanders and Dr. Peters talk through difficult cases together, so you get nearly fifty years of experience and a fresh set of eyes on the same problem.
Cause before symptom
We use Applied Kinesiology and Insight nerve scans to find the real driver of your problem — and we will tell you honestly when chiropractic is not the right tool.
Calm, unhurried care
Private rooms and real time with your doctor. You are a person here, not a number on a conveyor belt of stim machines.
